Through sustainable programs and responsive services, the Center for Community and Social Development (CCSD) dedicates itself to fostering meaningful partnerships and empowering communities. Guided by our institution’s commitment to social responsibility, we work to bridge resources, knowledge, and compassion to address community needs and promote inclusive development.
Through collaborative initiatives, capacity-building activities, and long-term engagement, CCSD strives to create positive change and strengthen the well-being of the individuals and communities we serve.
Through the Center for Community and Social Development, Northwestern University shall play an instrumental role in helping communities in need become productive and capable of making informed decisions for the improvement of their socio-economic well-being.
Northwestern University, through the CCSD shall make available to the intended target communities its resources, intellectual capabilities, and technology bank. These may be shared or loaned to induce awareness, higher productivity and efficiencies of the target clientele. It shall also be its duty to induce changes in the socio-economic aspects of their lives to give them a more balanced existence.
1) Encourage students, faculty and personnel to be innovative, to be strategic thinkers and to be proactive in the shaping of the future through our Community and Social Development Services.
2) For the Community and Social Development Programs to commit itself to the educational, spiritual, socio-cultural, economic, and political, health and environmental development needs of its partner communities and the nation as a whole.
3) To create an awareness among all NWU Stakeholders the importance of climate change, economic inequality, innovation, sustainable consumption, peace, and justice, governance, and education, all of which are our advocacies.
4) To develop spirit of volunteerism among the students, faculty and personnel.
